Google Ad Conversions Setup
1. Setup Google Analytics
- Add Site name for "Property Name"
- Set time to "New York"
- Currency to "US Dollar"
- Industry to "Other" unless there is a clear category
- Business size -- just guess?
- Click "Other" baseline reports
- Add domain and set "Data Stream" name to site name
- Make sure Steve & Jackie have access if possible
2. Setup Google Tag Manager
- Add Site name for "Account Name"
- Set "Container Name" to domain
- Select "Web" platform
- Make sure Steve & Jackie have full publishing permissions
3. Setup Google Ads
- Jake to add steps
4. Setup Google Ads Conversions
- In GTM
- Add a tag for conversion linker and GA4 Configuration
- Add a GA4 Variable by going to -- Variables > User-defined Variable > Constant
- Add a new GA4 Event tag, using the GA4 constant variable as the measurement id, create an easily identifiable event name, and create triggers for specific uses
- Test in the previewer
- Trigger the events in guest mode
- In Google Analytics
- If necessary, create key events by going to Admin > Data Display > Events > Create Event
- In Google Ads
- Go to Goals > Data Manager > Link GA4 Account
- May have to scan for connected accounts and select GA4 account
- Go to Goals > Conversions > Summary > Create Conversion Action > Import GA4 (web)
